Heroes – Ordinary and Extraordinary

Independence Day is a time to honor the heroes that have made our country great.

Do heroes still exist? A hero is defined as a person noted for courageous acts or nobility of character. Heroes such as Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Martin Luther King, Jr., Malala Yousavzai Rosa Parks, and Oscar Schindler are examples of modern day heroes that we have heard about. But what about Candace Lynn Lightner (founder of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD)) or U.S. Army Sgt 1st Class Alwyn Cashe? Sgt. Cashe’s heroic actions were second to none. What about the ordinary hero? He or she is a person we meet on the street whose action is completely selfless and noble. Ordinary heroes make the world a better place each and every day.   Read here.
